Quotes:
Iliesa Tanivula (Crusaders assistant coach)
“The boys started off strongly today and it worked out well for us. We made a coupled of mistakes though and dropped a few balls because of the rain but still we regrouped and we won. Viliame Satala was our decoy and he drew in the numbers while we used the ball out wide. He contributed immensely to the backline and his presence in the starting line-up boosted our side. Overall, we played well in the forwards but we will definitely need to polish up on our moves if we are to win next week.”
Iosefo Bele (Knights coach)
“We took a while to settle and unfortunately the weather was not on our side. We made many unforced errors that hindered our game plan. I was happy, however, with the boys for the strong comeback in the second half. Had we stuck to our game plan of running the ball, we would have been in next week’s final. It has been an enjoyable season and I have really enjoyed working with this mix of young and experienced players. Many of the younger players have improved over the past few weeks and I am sure they will be seen again in the near future.”
Ilivasi Tabua (FMF Flying Fijians coach)
“The Crusaders played from the first whistle and they were the better side today. However, had the Knights used their opportunities, the result could have been different. Having both Jo Tora and Waisea Luveniyali in the starting line-up for the Crusaders was a big boost as they were both kickers. This opened up a lot of opportunities for them. The Knights had only Luke Rogoyawa as the kicker and the Crusaders shut him out thus shutting out the Knights’ play as a whole. They both played exceptionally well today and we can't say much about the weather as that is what rugby is all about, so who ever settles first wins.”
