The South Sea Drifters won the Darwin 7s on Sunday after defeating Aussie Spirit 26-19 in the final.
Aussie Spirit, which is a makeup of the Australian 7s side, trailed 19-5 at half-time. The hosts came back strongly but were not able to match the Fijians, who boasted Waisale Serevi, Red Rock’s Lepani Nabuliwaqa, Naitasiri’s Serevi Kubu and Yasawa speedster Watekini Vunisa.
In the semi-finals, the Drifters beat PNG Barbarians 24-7.
