Savai'i Samoa's win too late
Savai'i Samoa defeated first-placed Tau'uta Reds 25-12 at Prince Edward Park in Savai'i, securing their first win in the process. However, with only one more round to go, the win may have come a little too late for last year's champions.
The visitors could only manage three penalties to Mesui Kailea and one to Tukia Na as the home side powered their way to three tries through Alvin Tavana, Ulia Ulia and Tauvaga Fa'afou. Loleni Tafunai added the extra's with Ki Anufe collecting a dropped goal.
Despite the loss, Tau'uta Reds still remain at the top of the standings with 13 points closely followed by Fiji Barbarians and Upolu Samoa with 11 points each.
