Dan Baleinadogo (centre)
Full name: Daniele Vakalutabua Baleinadogo
Colonial Cup team: Highlanders
Club: Marist, Suva
Height: 1m82 (6'0")
Weight: 101kg
Born: 3 April 1978 in Suva
Test debut: 2001 v Tonga in Nuku'alofa
10 caps
Dan played inside centre for Suva and made a break into the sevens squad for the 2000 Paris 7s after spending some time on the waiting list.
Whilst at Marist, he represented his school from U15 to U19 and kept the red fire burning when he played for the Marist Club. In 1998, he earned himself a sky blue jersey, playing for Suva.
He was a sevens trialist from 1997-2000 and a non-travelling reserve to Dubai and Malaysia sevens last season.
In 1998, he captained Marist to the Marist 7s in New Zealand. Just 20 at the time, he was given the leadership because of his reliability and discipline. With his good record, he again captained the team to the same tournament in 1998 and 2000, both of which they won.
Rupeni Ravonu took Dan to Durban and Dubai in 2000, and he was one of the few players to stand out in the Fiji team. He caught the eye of 15s coach Greg Smith, who gave him two runs against the Nothern Bulls in February 2001 and the winger repaid the gesture with three tries.
He made his Test debut against Tonga in May 2001 and played throughout the Pacific Rim campaign.
After a five-year absense from international rugby, Baleinadogo returned in 2007. Finished his contract with Mazda in Japan the same year.
