A deceptive runner with razor-sharp side-steps who played an infleuntial role in Fiji's winning the 2005-06 IRB 7s Series. Broke into the 15s team and played for the FMF Flying Fijians on their two-match tour against Australia A in July 2006.
This humble Yasawas halfback got to meet his childhood hero at the 2004 IRB France 7s when he teamed up with Waisale Serevi.
Captaining the Tikina Nacula team at the Island Zone tournament in 2003, Daunivucu helped the Yasawas team reach the semi-finals.
He also captained the Turtles team at the Teivovo 7s in January 2002 where they reached the Bowl semis after defeating national champions Nasinu 14-7.
The Yasawa lad has enough speed to play wing, good defence for the inside and has a quality kicking boot. A very disciplined player, he was groomed by Senivalati Laulau while the coach was helping out in the Yasawas in 2001.
After the Hong Kong 7s of 2003, Daunivucu spent some time in New Zealand, but returned to the Fiji 7s line-up for Hong Kong in 2004.
His knowledge of the game and discipline on-field allowed Waisale Serevi to give him the capataincy for the 2005-06 IRB World series.
