Former heavyweight boxer who enjoyed rugby success with the Stallions in the Colonial Cup then was understudy to Lotawa in the Pacific Tri-Nations.
Mobile ball-carrier and defender, Apisai Turukawa played wing in school.
Scored a hatful of tries for Nadroga in winning the 2004 Telecom Fiji Cup and Sullivan-Farebrother Trophy. Also helped Nadroga win the Sanyo Cup and Farebrother in 2006.
On his boxing, he says "no-one has ever beaten me."
Returned for the national side in 2007 when he came on against Samoa in Apia.
