In 2004, Dale Tonawai again started in all but one of Nadroga's 18 matches, leading to a call-up into the Fiji side.

He had earlier featured for the Fiji 7s team, then made his break in 15s against the NZ Divisional XV.

Tonawai has played for Nadroga since 2002 at both flanker and No.8.

The former Suva and Nadroga Colt has a wealth of experience from the international scene, Tonawai contributed immensely to the Nadroga Provincial 7s team that ran riot in the Provincial Sevens Series.
